Migrating whales springtime visits!
From March to June every year, Ucluelet experiences an awe inspiring event which attracts thousands of visitors to our area - whale migration!
Many different whale species, such as grey whales, humpback whales and orcas travel by Ucluelet en route from their winter home on Mexico's Baja Peninsula to the Arctic Ocean and the Bering Sea. This 14,000 miles (22,500 kilometers) journey is the longest migration of any sea creature in the world.
Ucluelet offers a variety of whale watching excursions to choose from- ask your hosts for more information! There are lots of activities during this season and visitors can take in the activities of the Pacific Rim Whale Festival while they are staying at our Bed and Breakfast, Liahona Guest House, during whale season!
Liahona Guest House is ideally located, being within a short walking distance to great whale watching areas such as Big Beach, and the Wild Pacific Trail. Whales can occasionally be seen in the harbour too, which is across the street from our guest house.
